Our stories begin the same way: Dietz Farms, in the North Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
We basically met when we were probably 5 years old, living a block away from each other. We rode the bus to Alvarado Elementary School together every day, and wound up being in the same first grade class, which was taught by Miss. Phillips.
We were never very close, throughout our elementary, middle, and high school years (at Alvarado, Taft Middle School, and good old Valley High School) but we always "knew" each other, and had a lot of friends in common.

After we graduated from high school in 1988 (wow, that was a long time ago), we both went our separate ways. Suzy went to University of Arizona in Tucson, and Chase went down to New Mexico State University, in Las Cruces. In 1990, Suzy blew out her knee in a skiing accident, so she had to return to Albuquerque. She started attending the University of New Mexico, and there, she ran into Chase, who had also returned to Albuquerque! We dated a few times, and got along very well, but there were other factors at work, preventing the relationship to progress, so we again went our separate ways. Suzy went on to finish her Bachelors in Business Administration, in Marketing, as well as her Masters Degree in Business Administration, while Chase went on to the Western Culinary Institute in Portland, OR.
As fate would have it, every couple of years, we would run into each other, and think "why did we end this thing?" and go our separate ways again. Chase was always the "one that got away" in Suzy's mind, so in 2002, when our paths crossed again, we decided that we really wanted to see what would happen between us, so we began to see each other. HOWEVER - Suzy got a job offer from a company in the Bay Area of Northern California, while Chase was Executive Chef at the O'Keeffe Cafe' in Santa Fe. We both thought, "here we go again," but we fell in love with each other, and decided to weather the long-distance storm. Shortly after Suzy moved to California, Chase decided to return to Vail, Colorado (his "second" home) and worked there. We both eventually decided that we wanted to be together, not just "sometimes" but all the time, and see what happened from there.
Well, what happened was Chase moved to San Jose, and a few months later, asked Suzy to marry him, which, of course, she accepted. And the rest, as they say, is history!
